¡ Viva México !
Landed in México City yesterday …
After a very long travel day and navigating a city where my Spanish language skills make things errrr … a bit challenging 😉 I am happy to report that in the last 24 hours, I managed to get a damn good night’s sleep, mindfully snarf down a few tacos al pastor (which, to be fair, were not unlike the delicious tacos of Los Angeles where I just spent the last three months but somehow this felt even more auténtico … ) and form a rock band with 4 new comrades — hahahaa 🌈🌍🇲🇽🎨👩🎤 Just playin on that last part, y’all !
I am settling in nicely though here, where I will spend the next 6 weeks as artist-in-residence amidst this tribe of talented artists from around the world — color me excited !!
Muy sleepy right now as it’s been a whirlwind getting here … yet feeling a serious vibe already and can’t wait to share some studio shots and new works-in-progress soon ( as the residency culminates in a public exhibition here in the one and only Mexico City … ) — keep your eye on this space . . .
In the meantime enjoy my early adventures & sources of inspiration Xo
UPDATE ::: large work-in-progress coming along nicely ( 🎥 here ) and I just finished an homage to my hometown… ( #affordableart HERE 🎊 )
